Toyota Research Institute Visit to Michigan Engineering
Eric Krotkov, advisor for the University Research Program at Toyota Research Institute (TRI), center, is given a project update in the lab of professors Dmitry Berenson and Nima Fazeli in the Ford Motor Company Robotics Building on the North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Krotkov and other members of TRI spent two days at the University of Michigan meeting with faculty, researchers and students. Krotkov also had a Fireside Chat with College of Engineering Interim Dean Steve Ceccio about the powerful impacts possible when industry and academia collaborate. The University of Michigan is one of three universities TRI has chosen to partner with, along with MIT and Stanford. Since the institution launched in 2016, it has funded $37 million in projects here, leading to more than 130 papers, 39 patent applications and numerous U-M hires at TRI.
