Gary Fong Puffer for on-camera flash
I just got the Gary Fong Puffer when I went to B & H last week and did some experimenting. I really like this thing, I wish that I had got it sooner! I do have an external flash, but often, I'll get too lazy to put it on or I don't have it with me (it's heavy). The puffer isn't for use in every situation but in this situation, it did want just I wanted it to do, it eliminated the shadows behind the jar and reduced/removed the glare on the front of the jar. I noticed it also warmed up the photos and ate about 1.25 stops of light. These photos weren't adjusted at all other than exporting the RAW file and resizing/compositing in Photoshop. The puffer is small and weighs next to nothing so if you know someone who owns a camera, the puffer makes a great stocking stuffer! And if you don't get one, just go out and buy it for yourself :-) (no, my last name isn't Fong, lol).
