I created a monster-I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.
It started innocently enough, throwing peanuts out of my kitchen window to the squirrels. Pretty soon they would wait for me and I'd throw them some peanuts and take some photos. It was a good arrangement.
A few days ago, one of the squirrels started coming close, really close. Yesterday, I was outside taking photos when my phone rang. I turned around to go in the house and answer it and saw the squirrel standing 3 feet away from me. I went towards the house and he followed me (brazen!). I came back with some peanuts and all was well except every time I tried to take a photo of him, he'd come too close to me - the lens I was using has a 5 feet minimum focusing distance. After a few minutes, I was able to get a few shots while he was eating, maybe he was getting too full to approach me ;-)
Next time, maybe I'll get a macro shot :-D
