HMS Bounty
View On Black HMS Bounty as seen from the St. Francis Yacht Cub as it entered San Francisco Bay for the annual Parade of Sails on Wednesday July 23 at noon. The Bounty was built as an ocean-faring vessel in 1960 for the movie, Mutiny on the Bounty, an accurate replica of an 18th Century vessel. It is one of the largest active wooden square-rigger that is also a full-rigged ship sailing today and one of the most recognizable tall ships in the world. It was too windy that day to have all it's sails unfurled while navigating inside the Bay - too bad, it would look even more spectacular with all it's sails billowing!
