Brutonian-28-STC928G-Dorchester-6-0587KN
Brutonian no 28 (STC 928G), one of four former Accrington Corporation Bristol RESL6L / East Lancs acquired from Hydburn in 1982.
And this is what it looked like in Dorchester on service 6 in May 1987. Someone seems to have made a start of repainting the roof into fleet livery, but I don't think it got any further.
Service 6 was the old Bere Regis & District route from Sherborne via the Cerne Valley. Using a vehicle in this condition on a route that passed the tendering authority's offices several times a day probably wasn't a good idea, and Dorset CC later reassigned the contact to Peace Darch & Willcox.
