Rock Sphere Grinding
Rock Sphere grinding. This is a three axis rock grinder. The idea is that all three motors rotate at varying speeds. Each motor has a steel grinder at the end. Each grinder is impregnated with diamonds. The person here is adding more grit abrasive. This process takes a long time. Sometimes it take over two or three days of continuous grinding to finish a sphere. Once polished, they are beautiful specimens.
Taken with a Canon AE-1 Program with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Kodak Tri-x 400 film expired in 2009. Developed in D-76 1-1 at 24C for 7.75m with standard agitation. Scanned with an Epson V500.
