1953 WILDCAT Concept & FAUX Magazine Cover

This was created totally on a whim and it was a joy ride putting it all together.

The Buick Wildcat 1 concept car is a 1/18th scale [ about 19 inches long ] RESIN cast model. Nothing opens or turns on it but it is a wonder to behold.

Looking through photos from mid- 20th Century car shows, many displays were aiming for a modern "classical" look, so here is my take on it. By utilizing an aluminum cake dish, glitter embedded plastic from a drum set, a micro wave dish holder, 4 sheets of ribbed styrene plus a string of micro, battery powered LED lights, I cobbled together a high end, early 1950s "motorama" stage set.

For the Faux magazine cover...I dove into my vintage collection; cutting a pasting as I went along, aiming for that "certain look" that only car magazines had back then.

No disrespect was intended! I truly love the vibe of those times.

The Wildcat Concept 1 model is by Minichamps and worth every penny.
