The Business End of the Garbage Truck
There have been many inquiries about the garbage truck that shows up in the early part of the Elgin Park film. So, without further ado,
here it is.
The cab and chassis were borrowed from a Danbury Mint diecast 1950 White truck. The business end was constructed of styrene plastic sheets and plastic rods along with jewelry pieces.
My reference material was from a book I have on the history of the garbage truck.
[highly recommended reading!]
Believe it or not, it is not as complicated as it looks.
As my Dad would say: "look closely at the object then mentally break it down into it's basic shapes."
The whole project took about a week; and no special tools were used. Just an X-acto knife, sanding block and styrene liquid glue.
