LED vs HPS
Many road authorities are switching from high pressure sodium street lights to LED.
In the living room, the difference in the light produced by these two technologies can be seen reflected in the lamp stand. The left side of the lamp stand is lit by an LED flashlight on its dimmest setting. The right side of the lamp stand is lit, through the living room window, by a high pressure sodium street lamp.
The light from outside shows an eerie amber, almost red colour. The LED produces a crisp and cheerful white.
Time to turn the light back on so that I do not trip, Van Dyke-esque over the ottoman (or tripod).
