LEGO RoboCop
Well I think that had to have been the shortest title for one of my custom minifigures ever, but Alex Murphy was a figure that I had considered making for a while, but after having seen the film and the release of BreakThrough’s RoboCop armor/weapons I couldn’t turn away from the idea any longer.
Granted the paintwork seen here certainly isn’t one of my most complex, but I’m a lot more excited for you guys to see what it is that I’m about to show you. The primary focus here was outlining whichever area I could with dark gray & metallic dark gray. Red highlights seen on his torso armor, legs, and arms are not screen accurate - though they are necessary as I thought the figured looked slightly bland without them.
There wasn’t a whole lot I could do with his badge, and I certainly didn’t want to engrave it into the armor nor did I want to use a decal. Due to time constraints, three-dimensional kneepads were missing from my Deathstroke figure, so I made sure not to let it slip by me this time!
RoboCop is equipped with his signature NI-408 pistol, painted with various silver and red highlights, along with his pair of M2 Battle Rifles (also painted with various metallic and red highlights) brilliantly crafted by BreakThrough as well!
I personally enjoyed this reinvention of RoboCop, the film wasn’t mind blowing, but I certainly don’t think it deserves all of the harsh criticism that it has been receiving.
This figure was just a quickie, back to work on…other things ;)
If you drop this a favorite, I’d love to hear what you think in the comments!
