Meet Me-ckey!
Day 47 - February 16, 2010
A self portrait has always been in my plans, but I've hesitated for the following reasons:
1. I don't have the proper equipment.
2. I don't know how to use strobes.
3. I'm scared to post my own photo.
Things haven't changed much, I still don't have any portrait gear, strobes, soft boxes and what not, in fact right until a few hours before my shoot I didn't even have a remote control and tripod.
But these past few days while visiting your streams, sharing photos, stories, and memories, among others things, I have come to realize how important friendship and community really are. This I believe, is what photo sharing is and should be all about.
I have come to know some really good friends via Flickr and I look forward to building more meaningful relationships in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
That's why starting today, for the next week or so, I'll be doing a series called "Boy Behind The Lens". Beginning with this one, my next few photos will be all about who I am, what I do, and what I love doing.
Here's some basic stuff to start it off. My name is Michael Josh Villanueva, you can call me Michael or Josh, I love both names so I don't mind either of the two. I am from the Philippines, half Filipino, half Chinese Malaysian and 29 years old.
I guess a photo should accompany that introduction, so with fingers crossed and eyes closed here I go...SUBMIT!
