In Amsterdam, a three day international convention was held called 'Still Going Strong', for Child Survivors of the Holocaust and their offspring. The event had taken three years to plan and resulted in approx. 600 people attending. Among the speakers was Serge Klarsfeld, the famous French lawyer who, immediately after WWII and against the common wisdom of the time, had done the historical reseach which finally caused governments to recognize that the Holocaust was a unique criminal event in Europe's history with severe consequences, which must not be swept under the carpet and forgotten.
