At the start of the Lag Ba'Omer festival, Jewish chldren and their (grand)parents study mishnayes - portions of the expanded Law - in a religious seminary. Afterwards, they go outside to light a large bonfire and dance around it in commemoration of Shimon Bar Yohai, a second century CE scholar and mystic, author of the Kabbalistic book Zohar.
