The Moth

The parametric surface described by the equations:

 

x=cos(v)*sin(u)

y=cos(u)*sin(v)

z=u

 

u plotted from 0 to Pi

v plotted from 0 to 2Pi

 

The mesh was generated in Blender 2.79 and and rendered using the Cycles Rendering engine. Thickness has been added to the surface and a pattern of particles has been mapped across it to provide texture.
