De Zes Zwanen

The Six Swans is a fairy tale about six brothers who have been turned into swans and their sister Elisa who has to knit shirts from asters to free them. It was recorded by the Grimm brothers under the title "Die sechs Schwäne" and was recorded in Kinder- und Hausmärchen under number 49. There are many variations of the story, as well as similar fairy tales including "The Wild Swans" by Andersen.

In Efteling, it is the 19th representation on the route in the Fairytale Forest, between The Wedding Dress of Genoveva and Cinderella. A small castle on a rock with a striking tower, the overall shape of which is reminiscent of a swan. In front of it is a pond where you can take a seat in one of the six swans that run laps. It is the only fairy tale in the forest that has a transport system. However, it is also possible to enter the building on foot. The fairy tale was built in 2019 for an amount of € 2.5 million.
