The oldest part of the Gnome Village from 1952 was not included in the major refurbishment of 2018. The three separate mushrooms have been inaccessible to visitors since the end of 2017. It is currently unknown what will happen with it and when it will become accessible again.
After Doornroosje on the right-hand side, the actual Gnome Village begins. A short side path of the main route has been created here for children, with three mushrooms with low passages for them to walk through. There is also a small picnic table here, there are some gnome clothes hanging on a clothesline and there is a bridge over a pond. Gnomes cannot be seen here yet.
At the moment (2020) the whole looks very neglected and is crying out for action.
