The ambiance around Piraña has everything to do with Mexico and South America and especially the Maya culture. Similarly, the catering point Casa Caracol.

 

Casa Caracol

Casa Caracol is a catering point on the Piraña square in the Anderrijk. Behind the catering point is a large shaded terrace above the water of the former Canoe pond. The catering point has a diverse range of wraps, warm panini, fair-trade delicacies and various hot and cold drinks.

Casa is Spanish for home, Caracol is the name of a great old Mayan city in Belize, which dates from 1200 BC. until 1050 AD. was inhabited. Many excavations were carried out in the twentieth century. Caracol is Spanish for snail, and more commonly spiral; probably the name of the city refers to its supply roads.
