Wine and Figs.
A nice traditional sort of still life — old, richly patinated pewter is such a great material to photograph — it interacts with light so beautifully, taking on the tones of the environment and lighting. The stone background is added digitally, by masking around all the items, and partially masking through the glass, to achieve a believable transparency effect. The original background is a 50% grey vinyl sheet — this allows a texture to be put over it, using 'overlay' blend mode, and have that texture take on the colours, light and shadows that are in the scene.
