A Moonlit Evening
Coffee and poetry by gentle light from an oil lamp on a frosty moonlit evening. Technical: single take, manual exposure. The 'moon' is a crescent-shaped hole cut into dark cardboard showing a white shiny card behind, separated by a gap. A flash is hand-held and fired onto the white background so that the light bounces back, through the cutout and back-lights the frost effect (see last week's shot for details) on the window. The flash has a coloured gel to get just the right colour for the moon effect. Phew, that's actually harder to describe than to do!
