The Edwardian Naturalist's Workbench
Harking back to the days of specimen collectors, gentlemen botanists and geologists (but without the pressed beetle collections)! Getting the light right on these backlit shots is quite tricky — especially as I'm using a polariser to control the reflections. Surprisingly little post-processing needed, the shot was near-perfect in-camera. The lit oil lamp plus a couple of judiciously placed mirrors help to balance the strong backlighting.
