Opal & Diamond Pendant
Opal Pendant. In a similar vein to yesterday's shot of the diamond cross, I set out to capture the fire and beauty of an opal. This photograph is a combination of two exposures, a normally exposed background and diamonds, then an underexposed shot of the opal to better pick up the colours. The 2 shots were then composited in PS Touch, on my iPad, erasing the lighter opal in a top layer over the darker underlying image. Light painted, again, with the tiny flash on my iPod touch — moving it carefully around whilst looking at the live camera view allows very precise adjustment of exactly where the light is falling.
