The green edges

This little one followed me for nearly 20 minutes down the length of the trail. I would stop and she would stop, staying about 15 feet behind me. I picked up the pace and she picked up to a trot. I stopped and turned, and she stopped, pretending to be interested only in the grass on the trail. We repeated this a few times. I was able to get some photos, this being one of them.

You can see the green edges of spring starting. The whole forest floor was shifting so sightly in its thaw to cause the leaves to make faint crackles in the adjustment that pattered like a light rain.
