Landmark Tree

A very special tree. Looking fresh, healthy, and in bud, as spring begins. A sign of hope for us all.

A monument to longevity, this California buckeye, a native, grows on the UC Berkeley campus. You can see by its spring foliage that it is doing well. May it be a sign and an encouragement to us humans, as we seek to survive and carry on.

The tree, standing a stone's throw from Strawberry Creek (which flows through campus), is believed to date from the 1880s. The Berkeley campus was established in the 1870s.

Happy TmT!
