Ukimido (Floating Pavilion), Lake Biwa, Japan

 

One of my favourite places in Japan is this gorgeous floating pavilion on the western shores of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake.

 

Last year when I visited, it was raining which created a very different look and feel. This image was captured back in April 2024 while in Japan running a couple of photo tours.

 

The weather was subdued which for this particular location, works well. There are so many compositions available that you could easily spend a couple of hours or so just wandering around.
