Cumberland Basin Underpass, Bristol

I took this shot last Thursday mid afternoon just as it was going dark. I loved the colours of the pillars and thought that they would make quite a nice abstract image.

Bristol is such a complex city to shoot. It rises and falls from the river Avon up to the Clifton Suspension Bridge three hundred feet high up. There are underpasses, bridges, roads going off in all directions, the river Avon which runs right through it and more buildings than you could shake a stick at.

If you want to photograph a city that's challenging and yet rewarding when you get it right, give Bristol a whirl.
