How I kept the screws in order
There were a total of 36 screws that I had to remove and then put back during reassembly, so I needed to be very methodical as I took them out. I used painter's tape because it's got a good amount of stickiness but not too much that it's impossible to get anything off of it. I put the bottom row of tape sticky side up so the screws would stay in place and not roll away, and the top row was sticky side down so I could write the step number I was at in the guide when I removed the screw. This made it easy to keep everything in order and then work backward through the guide when I was ready to reassemble the computer.
Because I really did have to take the entire machine apart.
