Goodbye to Tourmobile: #12 at Arlington Cemetery Visitor Center
A side-on view at the loading station to show the concertina connection between the two sections and the partly-enclosed wheel arches - must have been a nuisance when they had a puncture.
I have no information on the manufacturer of these vehicles. The only clue was the word "Minibus" pressed into the top of the engine cover; this may refer to Girardin Minibus, a Canadian manufacturer of school buses, or to Minicar Inc of Goleta, CA who appear to have occasionally custom-built some buses for special purposes. One oddity was the gear selector which looked like a small ship's engine room telegraph sticking up out of the left hand side of the dash panel. They didn't seem to go very fast, but didn't need to anyway.
One news report stated that they came from Universal Studios, but I think that actually refers to a number of open-sided cross-bench trailers that were scattered around. None of those were in use on October 30, so I don't know what their motive power was.
