Forget-Me-Not
So small, so blue, in grassy places
My flowers raise
Their tiny faces.
By streams their bigger sisters grow,
And smile in gardens
In a row.
I've never seen a garden plot;
But though I'm small
Forget-me-not.
By Cicely Mary Barker
A Flower Fairy poem... I used to love those books a young child. The verses are nice but the illustrations are really beautiful. My mum had an old copy of Barker's entire Flower Fairy collection and I spent hours pouring over the pictures inside. Those drawings, as well as others by Kate Greenaway, Beatrix Potter and so on inspired me to draw my own pictures while growing up, mainly of animals and ultimately to start taking photos. I must get back into drawing again soon. I go through phases of sketching, colouring and painting a lot, then months almost without picking up a pencil. It just takes more patience and time than photography does (at least when you're photographing a very cooperative dog - I have a feeling wildlife photographers may disagree with photography being a "quick" alternative to sketching!)...
Anyways, this was taken a couple of months ago, near St Anne's Well cafe in Malvern. I had an appointment with a specialist dentist back up in Worcestershire... So, as I was making the trip anyway, I thought I might as well take Barney with me and go on a couple of dog walks up the hills. I was surprised but very pleased to find Dilly at my dad's house (although I think that may have been when Barney picked up his fleas!), and for a couple of days the dogs were able to run around together once again, which was lovely :) I took lots of nice photos but for some reason never got round to properly going through them and uploading any, I then sadly lost quite a few due to my SD card breaking... However, I've managed to restore a few and have added some more from our walkies below!
Hope everyone is having a lovely week!
