This leads to students given the impression that many different people of color somehow “showed up” just in time to be exploited…. I teach history to undergraduates so thank you for this reminder. And I just wanted to mention here that there are many, many images here on TONS of topics that can be used to decorate powerpoints, handouts, you name it. I think diversifying your curriculum even in small ways makes students even more interested in history.
