DEV Anteater

The 1932 built Wismar Schienenbus(railbus) Typ "Hannover" (DEV T41) near Bruchhausen-Vilsen.

This is the oldest remaining railbus which was built by the "Triebwagen- und Waggonfabrik Wismar AG", so it's very valuable and is only used for special events.

This was the perfect machine for small private companies who served branch lines. It was very economical, it was cheap and only needed low maintenance. The two Ford engines and the simple mechanical transmission allowed that every car mechanic could repair and maintain those.

It is nicknamed "Maus"(mouse), "Schweineschnauze"(pig snout) or "Ameisenbär"(anteater).
