Here's a nice DC9-41 departing Milwaukee, WI on May 10, 2009. This bird originally delivered to SAS Scandinavian in February 1968 as OY-KGA, and named "Heming Viking". Leased to Swissair from October 1974 to October 1975 as HB-IDW. Back to SAS that October and reverted to original registration. Leased by Northwest from September 1991 until June 1996 when the lease was bought out by NWA. Soldiered on through the Delta merger in October 2008 until retirement in December 2010. Last reported as stored in Sanford, FL....
"S/N" is the aircraft's serial number. "L/N" is a Boeing code denoting what order the airframe came off the production line. "F/N" refers to an individual airline's fleet numbering system. Not all airlines use a fleet number; not all manufacturers use a line number.
