Another collaborative effort with smartee_martee, who has been encouraging me to lower the exposure of my photos. I sent him the image of this one with the house totally black and the sky looking lovely. He returned a photo to me in which the house could again be seen with the sky intact.
It is not the best photo of this house and to be honest I chose to send him the photo because it was an example of something I didn't think could be usable. It became usable with his touch, and with some photoshop fiddling of my own, combined with one of my homemade textures... well, here you see it.
Located in Emmet County Iowa, I like this place because it is an example of all that I love in abandoned houses: evidence of life, strength, commitment, and also a symbol of whatever causes a family or the generations that follow to leave this way of living.
Above, below, and within? Well, representative of spirit... that exists at all of those levels, the openings to this house from this perspective symbolized spirit and spirituality to me.
