Nigel Peak B&W
This picture is taken from the west side of Mount Athabasca well above the treeline on a scree slope. The sun is still on a low angle casting long shadows on the boulders and detrital matter on the foreground. Across the valley rises Nigel Peak to a height of 3211m (10535ft.) above sea level. This view offers distinct horizontal stratigraphy and snow bands.
A low pressure zone was entering from the west bringing cirrus clouds (as indicated by an elevation higher than the peak) creating a wisping effect over the mountain without blocking out the peak.
