365/1 It's Enough To Make A Cat Laugh

It was my birthday today, and I've had a wonderful time. Lots of celebrations and phone calls and cards & gifts from friends and family around the world. And having finished my first 365 yesterday I've taken the plunge and started my second one today. A couple of days ago I was swearing I'd wait until the New Year to start my second 365, but I really like starting them on my birthday. My last one is such a great memento of my past year, I'm hoping this one will help keep the coming year fresh and alive for me.

 

I took today's picture with my new lens - a Nikon DX 55-200 zoom, a gift from my father. I'm so thrilled with it!, and I hope I can learn to live up to it. Pictured is a gift from my mother, a steampunk kitty made by the amazing Maid Of Clay. I love him so much - I've decided to name him Isambard in honour of Brunel, who also had a fetching way with a top hat. And of course there is foster kitten Amelia, laughing away at the poor ceramic kitty who has to wear clothes :-)
