It's HIM!
This family had four kids ranging in ages from approx. 9 mos. to the boy up there on the right ... maybe 7 years old? Santa paid a visit to Culver's restaurant (frozen custard establishment very popular in WI) this weekend and the family came to see him.
As a previous shot proved, the very smallest of the children have absolutely no interest in leaving Mom or Dad's arms to meet this freak with the beard. They are too young to be convinced, bribed or otherwise tricked into understanding the story of Santa Claus or in believing that they'll ever see their parents again if they're deposited into the velvet lap of the gloved hohoho'ing guy.
Give 'em a couple of years though, and a very specific magic happens. Their eyes light up. A kid can become nearly apoplectic with excitement when Santa reaches into his bag for a coloring book or some other goodie especially for her. Little hands will reach out tentatively toward his for a brief shake and a shy whisper about what special treat she might like to find on Christmas day.
This is another reason I think kids are beautiful.
