A U.S. Marine with Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 542 taxis an AV-8B Harrier II jet at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Dec. 1, 2022. In accordance with Force Design 2030, VMA-542 transitioned from the AV-8B Harrier II jet to the F-35B Lightning II fighter jet and redesignated as a Marine fighter-attack squadron.
