EAST CHINA SEA (June 14, 2021) A Marine Corps UH-1Y Huey from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit departs the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in preparation for a Maritime Raid Force training evolution with the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) and the dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). New Orleans, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
