Big Iron and the Osprey
PACIFIC OCEAN (June 18, 2014) An MV-22 Osprey Tilt Rotor aircraft, assigned to the Greyhawks of Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron (VMM)161 and a CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter assigned to the Warhorses of Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465 participate in scheduled flight operations aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). Peleliu will participate in exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), a large multinational Naval exercise, as the command ship for the expeditionary strike group and is scheduled to conduct a follow-on deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
