Venom trains with rescue swimmers

Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 3rd Class Mitchell D. Crowther, from Perryville, Md., ascends into a UH-1Y Huey Venom utility helicopter after leaping into the water to simulate a rescue. The aircrew is embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU) is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
