Tour the restored log cabin, home to African American tenant families during the late 1800s.
Journey through time with stories by renown performance storytellers, Sheila Arnold and Sarah Brady in their presentation, “Do Justice: Voices of the Civil Rights Movement”. Dance along to live musical performances by the vibrant vocalist, Alison Crockett. Her performance of “The Evolution of Jazz” is an engaging show that traces the rich history and transformative journey of Jazz music. Enjoy docent-led tours, hands-on activities, and games for children of all ages. Refreshments will be provided for this family-friendly free event.

PARKING:
Free event parking is located at 19801 Georgia Ave, Brookeville MD 20832. Shuttle service will be provided to and from Oakley Cabin throughout the afternoon.

Heritage Days is a countywide festival weekend celebrating the historic, cultural, and outdoor recreation sites in Montgomery County, Maryland. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, this year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30 and features over 30 museums and parks.
