Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) with Lady J. Monroe--cosponsored by Drag Queen Story Hour Montgomery County, Maryland, WAM and FAM, and Brookside Gardens-- is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores.

Upcoming dates are: September 25, October 23, November 20, December 18, January 15, and February 19.

Note: Lady J. Monroe will present stories in Spanish for Hispanic Heritage Month during Drag Queen Story Hour on September 25.

DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.

In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish and where dress up is real.

Stories will include nature themes.

FREE! No registration required. If weather permits, we will be on the lawn next to the visitor center. During inclement weather, we will be inside the auditorium inside Brookside Gardens' visitor center.
