Kemp Mill Urban Park 2017

by Montgomery Parks, MNCPPC

Originally developed in the 1960’s, Kemp Mill Urban Park was widely praised for its innovative, contemporary design. Located at the intersection of Arcola Avenue and Lamberton Drive, the park sits on more than 2.7 acres in the Kemp Mill neighborhood of Wheaton and includes a large water feature, playground, basketball court, benches, and several mature trees.

In February 2016, the entire park was closed for renovations to improve the park amenities. Work is including an update to the water feature, expanding the playground, a basketball court, and an observation deck. Work was substantially complete in May 2017 and open for public use.
