The Head and the Heart
The Head and the Heart
I recently returned from a week long trip to southern California. It was one of those trips where I completely lucked out with the weather. The pre-trip forecast called for a week with nothing but blue skies., but some higher power was looking out for me. On the second day a 48 hour window of perfect clouds blew in. On this morning I almost missed this shot as I didn't plan on shooting sunrise because the night held nothing but clear skies. But as first light came up this little voice kept urging me to check conditions. Over and over and over again. Begrudgingly, I gave in and unzipped the tent flap to peak outside. The sky was about to explode. Don't think I've ever pulled a pair of paints on so fast! I jammed to the location shown in this image and experienced the best sunrise of the trip, and my best of my three spring trips to the desert.
