What a way to close out 2014. On the morning of December 31st, I got word that CNW 8646 was on the point of MELNP 31, I got on the computer and checked the summary, it showed at Boone. So on the road I went. Chased it from Boone to Missouri Valley and only shot it once (I know, right?!).
Anyways, CNW 8646 leads the MELNP 31 (Elkhart, IN to North Platte, NE Manifest "NS 33E") up the "Iowa Divide" at the little town of Arcadia, IA, between Maple River, IA and Westside, IA.
