I think bananas was a hairdressers, or a womens boutique - I forget. 'Mrs Rolleston, Toilet Specialist' all sounds a bit odd...
at any rate, there was no more green on the terrace once this was built on, and the street was thusly transformed into a veritable concrete canyon, taking but 25 years from the appearance of the first hi-rise office building (Shell House, I believe; these days known as Transpower House).
