Rabbit, Run

Couldn't resist the tile; majors apologies to to the late John Updike. This could very well be a story of a creature in the throes of suburban angst, however. This Audubon's Cottontail is living along the banks of the largely cemented San Gabriel River, in the Los Angeles Basin. With homes on one side and a freeway on the other, this cannot be the world's most well adjusted rabbit.

According to my 3 kids, it brings luck for a month, if the first words spoken, on the first of any month are "Rabbit, rabbit". Worth a try, eh?

It's lucky to click here!
