The look of flabbergasted

back story of my stolen gear

Alright. Well. I called a guy from my local car club that I've been part of for a good 12+ years because he worked at a pawn shop in Detroit. I gave him a quick run around of what I had and told him to give me a shout about what was stolen. In the meantime I got all my serial numbers that I could find, boxes, paypal reciepts, etc etc together. Approx. 1 minute before my g/f was going to fax over the info to the police department (What exactly was taken etc) I get a phone call from my source at the pawn shop.... 'Matt? You aren't going to believe this. Your stuff just came in....you go to Tampa recently? Your boarding pass is in the bottom of the bag still....' In awe, cursing and jaw dropped etc. Trying to get my thoughts together I get ahold of the PD again and head down to Detroit. Go fill out paperwork and call my guy at the pawn shop to get my stuff. 'Hey, can I swing by and grab my gear?' Him: 'Yeah, I'm not there, but you can get it....if you hurry up, they guy is there selling us some more stuff right now....' Flat footing my 1990 BMW, 80 mph down side streets, stopping at red lights...then going through them (It's Detroit, practically legal. ) I pull up to pawn shop with barely any brakes left, and me, shaking like a school girl going into the principals office I walk into the pawn shop.

Sadly, the guy wasn't there still. 'I just missed him.' But of course.

So, I had to pay $400 for my gear, because, well, that's all they paid for my 6k+ of gear...sickening. I'm not too worried about the paying of, since I consider it a finders fee, reward, or, I'm lucky I got my shit back.
