27/365 - Late night in the office
1/27/11 - Half way through a gruelling work week and I was devoid of creativity in taking a photo. However, this project is intended to capture a year of my life, day by day, and the fact is that I spend a great deal of time in the office during the week. We were mandated on a new buyside mergers and acquisitions advisory assignment and my deal team was preparing for a presentation on Thursday evening to our client. This picture was taken just before midnight with time running out on the day. My night in the office ended just before 3am. What's interesting in this image is that I took a picture facing out of the window in front of my desk. You can see the camera dead in the center of this frame resting on my cube wall. In the bottom half of the image you can see the building (Guild Hall) across the street, with a bit of a cast image from what is reflecting off the glass. The top half of the image is distinctly much more of a reflection of me in the office, with an apparent quite environment surrounding me at the near-stroke of midnight. The truth is, there were still quite a bunch of people around, busy trying to get their work done and then get home for some much needed rest.
