Went up the Rockefeller Building when I was in New York with friends. We randomly timed it perfectly for sundown. The view is epic. Better to go up the Rockefeller and actually see the Empire State Building I think. Plus there isn't loads of hassle from people trying to sell you tickets at the bottom.
