Leavitt Lake in the Northern Sierra near Sonora Pass

Leavitt Lake is located in the Humboldt-Toyabe National Forest on the west side of Sonora Pass on Highway 108. There is a road up to this spot but fortunately for us it was still closed on July 4th and it made for a very nice walk. We only saw two other groups all day.

The water seen draining in this photo will soon drop over Leavitt Falls and into the West Walker River.
